As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) concludes its primary elections for House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats across Rivers State, the chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has congratulated the member representing Ikwerre/Emohua federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Boniface Sunday Emerengwa on his electoral victory as the candidate of PDP in the contest for the Ikwerre/Emohua federal constituency seat at the PDP primary election held on Sunday, describing the victory of the serving house of Reps member as a collective decision of PDP leaders, stakeholders and delegates across Ikwerre and Emohua local government areas.
Barr. B.S Emerengwa who is already serving out his first term in the green chambers was elected unopposed as the candidate of PDP for Ikwerre/ Emohua federal constituency ahead of 2023 general election, to represent the constituncy for a second term, with a total of 80 votes from the delegates across the 27 political wards of Ikwerre and Emohua LGAs in the primary election held at St Martin’s Anglican Church, Omagwa in Ikwerre LGA.
Dr. Lloyd who joined his Ikwerre LG counterpart, Engr. Samuel Nwanosike to observe the Ikwerre/Emohua federal constituency primary election in Omagwa, thanked the leadership of the party, stakeholders and delegates across the two LGAs for the peaceful conduct of the exercise and wished the victorious candidate a successful outing at the 2023 general election.
Earlier, the Emolga council Boss practically supervised the PDP primary election for Emohua constituency seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly held at Ojims college, Rumuji town in Emohua LGA, which saw the emergence of Hon Justina Emeji as the unchallenged candidate of PDP ahead of the 2023 general election.
The council chairman while congratulating Hon Mrs Emeji on her landslide victory also commended the PDP family in Emohua LGA for a successful primary election, attributing the peaceful conduct of the exercise to the existence of peace and unity within the PDP family in Emohua LGA.
Elated Justina Emeji in her remarks after the primary election, thanked the leadership, stakeholders and delegates of PDP across the 14 wards of Emohua LGA for giving her the opportunity to fly the flag of the party in the general election, promising to be a good ambassador of the LGA when elected to represent the constituncy in the state assembly.
Speaking with journalists immediately after the state assembly primary election in Rumuji, Dr. Chidi Lloyd congratulated the PDP for the successful primaries, promising to provide the necessary support to ensure that the PDP come out victorious at all levels in the 2023 general election.
The council chairman further felicitated with the PDP family in Rivers State for what he described as another victorious outing by the party, describing the hitch free primaries across the state as a manifestation of the visionary leadership of Gov Nyesom Wike in Rivers State.
The project oriented chairman of Emohua LGA urged delegates from the LGA to the national congress of the PDP to ensure that no void vote is recorded from the LGA, as the PDP returns Gov Nyesom Wike elected and nominated as its flag bearer and presidential candidate during the presidential nomination congress of the PDP billed to hold in Abuja between 28th and 29th may,.
